Beth Brown-Reinsel

I attended a workshop yesterday at a LYS Woolwinders called Aran Cardigans from the Top Down with Beth Brown-Reinsel. It was a small class with only 9 people. Beth was delightful and I loved looking at her show and tell sweaters. I have always wanted to knit Marilyn and purchased the pattern from Beth. It's the paprika sweater in the second photo. Our class project was to knit a little sampler sweater that is perfect for a little teddy bear. The pictures are of Beth's sampler as I did not finish mine in class. We were given a very nice 31-page handout. Beth also signed my copy of Knitting Ganseys.

Wish I could have been there! I just bought that book and plan to knit the sampler sweater. Is that the one she taught? I like the Marilyn sweater, too! And, I love that paprika color....hmmmmm....dare I.....

Isn't Beth a sweetie? I loved the workshop I took with her. How nice to just have 9 people in the group!

For Rebecca in co - Beth's sampler in the book is a Gansey and is made differently from the Aran top down. But it's way fun to knit!

I love how she teaches the techniques by making little sweaters.

I missed Beth this year when she came to town but the LYS says she should be back for that workshop in early 2007. It's nice to hear good things about it.

Can't wait to see your Marilyn!
