A Decision Has Been Made

Our black Lab Sam got his stitches out this morning. They all love him at the Vets office. Labs are such wonderful pets.

Tomorrow I leave for another trip to Nantucket then Boston then back to Nantucket before heading back to Maryland. I plan to knit on this trip! I found myself in a litte quandary (see the March 23rd post) and have made decision. I'm going with option c.) Start the Dale of Norway Fox Sweater!
The fox pattern can be found in Dale of Norway book #66. It has the black with red foxes or blue with salmon heather foxes. Dale of Norway book #107 contains the black with copper foxes. I'm planning to knit the black with copper version using Heilo.

I was supposed to attend Meg Swansen's knitting camp this year. I had a guaranteed spot because I didn't make it into last years camp due to being wait listed. Stupid me forgot to register by the deadline so I lost my spot. I was really looking forward to it too.

Oh, that is so sad about Meg's camp. I have always wanted to go. I love the sweater. Come visit my blog for some pictures of Monument Valley.

Ouch on Meg's camp. What a disappointment for you. Labs eat up attention don't they? Will watch as you knit the Fox sweater.

I assume the decision you made has to do with Sirdal? I had a lesson on Saturday with the LYS guru on my Sirdal and he walked me through the pattern. I'm starting with the sleeves to get my gauge right with the lice pattern...told him what happened to you with it. He said that if you weave in the lice instead of floating it the gauge should remain the same as the upper pattern. Yours was so lovely! Don't abandon it completely. But I don't blame you..those foxes are adorable!

Meg's camp? So sad? I hate it when I miss a registration date!

Oh no! Don't you just hate it when something like that slips through? I feel especially bad for you, cuz I'm leaving next week for the abbreviated workshop version in Wisconsin.

I'm very glad Sammy has stitches out! Chelsea, whose new people are calling her Freckles, should be getting tummy stitches removed this week. From what I hear, her new parents are just thrilled with her.

Shame about the camp - I did the self same thing last year at an event. How frustrating for you.
Give Sammy a tummy rub and a ruffle behind the ears for me - from a fellow labrador lover.

The jumper looks like a wonderful project - hopefully I can watch the progress on your blog.

Thanks for the swatching advice. I'll give it another go.

Look forward to tracking sweater progress.

Poor sweet pup with his shaved neck and stitches. Here's to a speedy recup.

Labs definitely do make wonderful pets, without Abner this last year I don't know if I would have survived.

This is such a gorgeous pattern, I'm keeping my eyes out for that book!
